If a color code is used in the Java Edition after a formatting code, the formatting code will be disabled beyond the point. X Y is displayed as Y. SSnXSScY will display as SSnXSScY. In Java Edition, ensure the color code is used first, then re-use formatting code to change colors.

Where can I find the § Symbol in Minecraft?
Enter “SS” in Windows using the US/UK English keyboards by typing Alt + NUMPAD2+ NUMPAD1 (alt code at cp437). Hold down the ALT key (not ALTERGR), and then type 2 followed by 1 on the Numeric Pad. The Numeric Pad is located on the left side of your keyboard.
The Minecraft Bedrock Edition allows you to copy and paste the SS character from this page (SS), while Ctrl +V (Windows) and Cmd+V (macOS) can be used to paste it into a book. Pasting is not possible for all items, such as chat, command blocks, and world names.
For other keyboards, the Windows ANSI version is: Alt + NUMPAD + NUMPAD 0 + NUMPAD1+NUMPAD6+NUMPAD7 often works.
If you have a US keyboard on your Mac, then type Option + 6, or Option + 5, for the Extended US. Other keyboards can be used by typing Option + 00a7
Type Composeso on Linux, with the compose key activated. Shift + u00a7.
Select languages (globe) to enter the “SS” symbol on a Nintendo Switch. Next, go to the bottom, find the “Symbols language”, then choose Page 2 and locate it right in.
SS can be used as part of JSON text to write u00A7 and u00a7.
